My Treatment Approach:
In general, my approach is nonjudgmental, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I tend to focus on the present and future; however, I will also help clients work through their past when it is impacting the present (in other words, I won’t make you talk about your family and all your childhood stuff just for the sake of it, but we will address it if it is continuing to cause you trouble in the present). I use an “integrative approach” which means that I incorporate techniques from various treatment models to best tailor services to my clients based on their individual needs.
For those interested in the therapy jargon, the treatment models that I draw from are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strengths-Based Therapy (SBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).
