Hi, I'm Amber!

She specializes in helping couples and families repair and strengthen their communication and connection. Amber also has a passion for working with adolescents, college students, young adults, and women. Amber has experience in working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation, behavioral management, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, family conflict, attachment issues, divorce, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, chronic stress, and more.

Amber believes that, no matter the size of one’s struggles, they are valid and worth addressing. Her approach is nonjudgmental, strengths-based, and solution-focused. She works to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship in which her clients feel safe, respected, and accepted. She collaborates with her clients to help them identify their goals and work toward them by building upon their strengths and addressing areas for change and growth. Her goal is to support, guide, and empower her clients as they work toward finding balance, fulfillment, and happiness in their lives.

My Treatment Approach:

In general, my approach is nonjudgmental, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I tend to focus on the present and future; however, I will also help clients work through their past when it is impacting the present (in other words, I won’t make you talk about your family and all your childhood stuff just for the sake of it, but we will address it if it is continuing to cause you trouble in the present). I use an “integrative approach” which means that I incorporate techniques from various treatment models to best tailor services to my clients based on their individual needs.

For those interested in the therapy jargon, the treatment models that I draw from are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strengths-Based Therapy (SBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).
